TSA Confiscates Nail Clippers from Soldier, Lets Him Board with Guns

Another example of how badly the Transportation Security Administration is broken came to light during a security check at an Indianapolis airport.

Soldiers arriving home from Afghanistan had been searched prior to boarding the plane but were allowed to board with their weapons because they had been searched for ammo and found to have none.

The problem came when 100 soldiers departed in Indianapolis and the TSA decided to search the soldiers once again. As the TSA personnel searched the soldiers, weapons and personal gear, one TSA inspector found nail clippers.

“You can’t take those on the plane,” the TSA official said. “They can be used as a weapon.”

When the solider responded that he had an actual weapon on the plane, the agent replied, “Yeah but you can’t use it to take over the plane. You don’t have bullets.”

“And I can take over the plane with nail clippers?” asked the soldier.

The TSA let him continue with his guns, but not the nail clippers.
